He started ZSD in 2018, and in 2020, followed up with the inception of ZSD Construction, which is now responsible for general contracting services on all ZSD real estate developments. As a principal, he has developed over $375MM in new-construction residential and mixed-use buildings.
Zev has executed condominium conversions, as well as stabilized and completed broken condominium developments during the recession. He has focused his development work on multifamily housing exclusively in Chicago, and brings a passion for design and a mandate for quality execution.

Brandon Breting has over 20 years of experience in the design, development, construction, and management of real estate assets. He has managed aspects of the design, city approvals, contract negotiations, cost control, construction, and schedule for over $1 billion in healthcare and biomedical facilities. In addition, he has led the development and/or construction of over 350 residential units in the Chicagoland market over the last 10 years. His residential experience, a combination of condominium, townhome, and apartment, spans new ground-up mid-rise and high-rise construction as well as adaptive re-use.
At ZSD, Brandon is responsible for facilitating development due diligence through construction completion. He focuses on project administration including project startup, staffing, budgeting, and contract negotiation with subcontractors. He oversees field and project management personnel across all projects.

Brandon Breting has over 20 years of experience in the design, development, construction, and management of real estate assets. In addition, he has led the development and/or construction of over 350 residential units in the Chicagoland market over the last 10 years. Bret Gray has over a decade of experience in residential new construction in Chicago. He transitioned into development in 2017, joining Ranquist Development after a career in commercial office brokerage. In 2022, he became the Director of Development at ZSD, where he oversees rental, condominium, and mixed-use projects from inception to completion.
Throughout his career, Bret has managed all aspects of the development process, including entitlements, due diligence, construction management, brokerage, marketing, and sales. He has led complex construction projects, notably converting four historic religious institutions into 81 residential units. To date, he has overseen the development of more than $130 million inresidential and mixed-use real estate, delivering architecturally-refined projects across various scales.
